Community of St. John Brebeuf Events



20th Annual St. John Brebeuf Golf Tournament: New Date: Friday, September 10, Noon, Transcona Golf & Country Club.  Texas Scramble format.  Foursomes and Singles welcome.  $75.00 (Golf, half cart, BBQ Steak Dinner), $55.00 (Golf only), $25.00 (Dinner only).  Join as a single player or put together a team.  Prizes for best scoring teams, closest to the pin, longest drive, and other door prizes.  For further information, email sjbgolftournament@gmail.com.  Those who were previously registered will be contacted shortly to confirm participation.


Regular Meetings

St. John Brebeuf C.W.L meets at 7:30 pm, the 4th Tuesday of each month from September through June in the Parish Hall.  All Catholic women 16 years and older are invited to attend.  New members welcome. 

Knights of Columbus #1107 (St. John Brebeuf) meets at 7:30 pm, the 2nd Wednesday of each month from September to June in the Downstairs Meeting Room.  All Catholic men 16 years and older are invited to attend.  New members welcome. 

St. John Brebeuf Bereavement Support Group: meets on an as-needed basis.    Please contact the Parish Office for further information.


St. John Brebeuf Rosary Group meets Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm, September through May in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel.  The group provides participants with an opportunity to come together before the Blessed Sacrament to pray for the spiritual needs of the parish, the world, and special intercessions.  Following the Liturgical Year, the group progresses through the Rosary of the Holy Spirit, Joyful Mysteries, Mysteries of Light, Sorrowful Mysteries and Glorious Mysteries.  New members welcome.

SJB Lectio Divina Group meets Monday afternoons, 1:30 pm, September through May in the St. Marie Room. Schedule subject to change. Those interested in attending should confirm meeting with Parish Office prior to attending for the first time.

Catholic School of Evangelization- You still have time!  St. Malo Catholic Summer Camps are still accepting registration for campers aged 8 to 17 years.  These week-long summer camps offer youth a chance to grow in their personal relationships with God, and in friendship with other youth who share their Catholic faith.  Camps are offered in both English and French, and have changed the lives of many young Catholics.  For more information, see the Lanark entrance bulletin board and contact Amber or Kurt at the Catholic School of Evangelization: www.catholic way, (204) 347-5396.

Rock the Grott and the Annual Diocesan Pilgrimage in St. Malo, MB with Most Reverend Archbishop Albert LeGatt: Aug. 13 to 15:
Rock the Grott- a Christian rock festival, will be held in conjunction with the Annual Diocesan Pilgrimage held at Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes Grotto in St. Malo, MB.  The park will open at 6:00 pm Friday for camping.  Live Bands, BBQ and Christian merchandise sales will begin at 1:00 pm on Saturday.  Mass, Adoration and Reconciliation will be offered at different times during the wekend.  Please note that the area will be sprayed against mosquitoes.  Donations are appreciated in order to cover expenses.

Celebration of the Canonization of Br. Andre: October 29-31, 2010, Montreal, Quebec.  Are you thinking about a vocation to religious life of the priesthood?  Are you between the ages of 18 and 30?  Would you like to join with other young adults across North America in celebrating the Canonization of Br.
