Before and After School Program

This page provides information about the SJB Before and After School Program . Because at this time there is no clear indication of how many students will need the service, it may be necessary to prioritize students who apply. If this is so, enrolment will be according to the following priority:

  1. Students who will use the service both before and after school every day;
  2. Students who will use either the before or after service every day;
  3. Students who will use the service on a regular but not consecutive basis, i.e. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday etc.;
  4. Others
 

The program begins on the first full day of school. The hours of operation will be from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., and 3:20 to 5:30 p.m. every school day. These hours will be extended only on Parent/Teacher Interview Days in November and March. There will be no After School Program offered on early dismissal days for end of terms (December, March, June). Only the Before School Program will be offered on those days.

A variety of structured and non-structured activities are planned throughout the year(computer, art, reading, story-time, sports, etc.).

 

The doors to the school will be locked in the morning and afternoon during the Before and After School Program hours. Parents or caregivers are asked to ring the bell (right wall of school) for access to the building when dropping off or picking up students.

 

Program Fees

The cost of the program is broken down into two optional fee schedules:  Schedule A (for students who use the program every day) and Schedule B (for students who may require use of the program on an as-needed basis).

(Students using program EVERY school day)

Schedule B

(Students using the program on a CASUAL BASIS)
1 child-1 session/day:            $6.00 1 child-1 session/day:             $8.00

For those participating in the every day program (Schedule A), post-dated cheques dated the first of each month for the entire school year (September - June) are to be provided to the school office the first week in September. 

For those participating in the as-needed program (Schedule B) payment is due at the end of the month.   Families choosing this option will be billed for the amount owing each month that the program is used.
