Sunday School
In addition to the sacramental classes, we also offer Sunday school for children ages 9 - 12. This is a wonderful program for children to learn about the Bible, the teachings of the Church, and how to live a Christian life. Sunday School resumes on September 13th , 2026, and takes place every Sunday from 11:15 AM to 12:15 PM in the school; except on long weekends, or pancake breakfast Sundays. There is no cost for this program. Registration for Sunday School is now open.
The Share the Word Program
For our younger parishioners aged 3-6, we have the Share the Word program. This program is conducted every Sunday during Mass from September to April and no registration is required. In Share the Word, children are introduced to the Gospel in a fun and engaging way, helping them to understand and appreciate the faith from a young age.
Our parish is offering this program for children ages 3-6 every Sunday from 11:05 AM to 12:30 PM, starting on September 13th, 2027. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to children attending the previous year and registered parishioners.
Spaces are limited, and the program fee is $80. If the cost is a concern, please let us know—financial assistance is available, and no child should miss this opportunity due to financial constraints.

The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
History
The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is inspired by the educational principles of Maria Montessori. It is the fruit of over 50 years of observation of children in Rome by Sofia Cavalletti, an Italian theologian and scripture scholar, and her Montessorian collaborator, Gianna Gobbi.
“The child has a different relation to his environment from ours ... the child absorbs it. The things he sees are not just remembered; they form part of his soul. He incarnates in himself all in the world about him that his eyes see and his ears hear.”
~ Maria Montessori, The Absorbent Mind.
What if every child could have time and space specially set aside for an encounter with Christ?
The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a time-tested approach to faith formation. It feeds the deepest needs of children, allowing each one to get to know God personally.
In a retreat-like atmosphere, through the use of special materials designed just for them, children hear the Word proclaimed and grow in their relationship with God.
The most essential treasures of the Christian faith, from scripture and liturgy, touch the heart of each child and lead to deep contemplation, prayer, and joy.
“The atrium is a place of spiritual retreat…in which work easily becomes prayer…a place of worship where children and adults celebrate the Word together.”
~Sofia Cavalletti, The Religious Potential of the Child.
